The extracellular matrix plays a crucial role in skin aging and repair

Human skin essentially consists of three layers of tissue: epidermis, dermis and hypodermis.
The extracellular matrix (ECM) is a fine network of microscopic fibers and contains components such as collagen, elastin and hyaluronic acid.
